Celebrate all things International Women's Day, with an evening that pays tribute to Palestine; its history, culture, language, food, and spirit of resistance.


Cedar & Pine Bar is proud to present stories of hope, resilience and faith, as we raise money for TAQWA, a charity and welfare organisation supporting Palestinian families coming to Brisbane from Gaza.

Our Storytellers:

SUSAN AL MAANI
Susan was born in Jordan of Palestinian heritage, and has spent the past twenty years devoting her time to a career in social work and being an active community activist for many world-wide humanitarian causes. Susan will share her Grandmother's story of life and loss during the 1948 Nakba. 

REMAH NAJI
Remah is an active member of Justice for Palestine Magan-djin, and since arriving in  Australia in 2013, Remah has been an advocate for justice in Palestine, in various spheres. Remah will share her inspiring migrant story of hope and belonging.

ROUBA RAYAN
Rouba was born a Palestinian refugee and immigrated to Australia at the age of seven. With family still in Gaza, Rouba will share what it's like to experience the terror currently unfolding in front of all of us.

HANEEN ABU-OBEID
Haneen is a psychology student from Hamama, Palestine, who recently began story telling on social media, mixing words until they portray her thoughts. Haneen will share a story of resistance and freedom.

WHEN: THURSDAY MARCH 7th
TIME: 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
COST: $50 Entry, dinner, and drink on arrival.
