Meet The Author

We’re beyond excited to welcome Brisbane local author, Sita Walker to Cedar & Pine Bar for our first Meet The Author event of the year, on Thursday February 26th at 6pm.

Sita is a high school literature teacher, freelance writer, and award-winning author. Her debut book, The God of No Good, earned major acclaim, including the Courier-Mail People’s Choice Award at the 2023 Queensland Literature Awards. In 2026, Sita has released another gem: In a Common Hour. A smart, funny, and deeply insightful story set entirely within a single high school lunch break, exploring the surprising ways our lives intersect.

Join us for a warm, thoughtful evening as Sita shares insights into her work, her writing process, and the ideas that shape her stories. Expect great conversation, good drinks, and a rare chance to hear from one of Brisbane’s most exciting literary voices up close.
